EVENTS BY AP TOURISM

The Tourism Department of Andhra Pradesh has planned the following major events for Godavari Maha Pushkaram 2015.

Sky Lanterns Festival (Akasa Deepalu)  7:30 PM on July 13, 2015 at Rajahmundry.

The festival will be held at Road cum Rail bridge in Rajahmundry. About 5000 sky lanterns shall be launched into the air over Godavari where the Jyothis (lanterns) float gracefully through the sky. Their reflections on river Godavari shall resemble large flocks of giant fluorescent jellyfish beautifully treading the waters.

Sand Art Festival  7 AM to 8 PM from July 14, 2015 – July 25, 2015 at Narsapuram
The Sand Art festival shall be organized by APTDC on the banks of River Godavari at Madhavaya Palem, Narsapuram depicting mythological themes.

Food Festival 7 AM to 8 PM from July 13, 2015 – July 25, 2015 at Rajahmundry 
A mega food festival with Andhra Cuisine, Godavari Cuisine, Rayalaseema Cuisine will be organized at the government arts college premises, Rajahmundry.

Prabhalu Festival  7 AM to 7 PM July 15, 2015 at Kotipalli
Prabhalu are specially decorated arches with lord shiva’s replicas made with bamboo sticks and new clothes. They will be organized at Kotipalli (K Gangavaram Manadal) in East Godavari Distrcit from 7AM to 7PM

Flower and Horticulture show July 13, 2015 – July 25, 2015  at Rajahmundry
A mega flower and horticulture show will be organized at Arts College premises at Rajahmundry showcasing beautiful nurseries of Kadiyam from 7AM to 8PM daily between July 13, 2015 to July 25, 2015.

Laser Show July 13, 2015 – July 25, 2015 at Rajahmundry
A mega Laser show with Godavari Maha Pushkaram themes will be organized on Havelock Bridge at Rajahmundry. Pilgrims can enjoy the laser show in the evenings from both sides of the river.


The inaugural show (on July 13, 2015) is scheduled to last 20 minutes. From July 14 to July 24, the laser show will be presented 3 times a day with each show lasting 13 minutes. On July 25, 2015 on the occasion of the closing ceremony the show is scheduled to last 20 minutes similar to the inaugural show.
