# BANKS of RIVER GODAVARI

RIVER GODAVARI

There are many temple towns on the banks of river Godavari. Basara in Adilabad district, Kaleshwaram and Dharmapuri in Karimnagar district, Bhadrachalam in Khammam district,Rajahmundry and Antarvedi in East Godavari district, Kovvur and Pattiseema in West Godavari district are some prominent places connected with river Godavari. A giant size Sivalingam is special attraction in Rajahmundry. Water is drawn from Godavari to Sivalingam and facilitates the Pilgrims to take bath under showers. There are two bridges, a road-cum-rail bridge and a railway bridge built over river Godavari, connecting Rajahmundry and Kovvuru. There is also a "Godavari Railway Station” in Rajahmundry, which during the pushkaram deals with the heavy rush of pilgrims.
