# Water released for Godavari Pushkaralu

7.000 cusecs of water to be released for Godavari Pushkaralu.

As there is not much water in the three pushkar ghats  in the district, the state government has decided to release water from  dams upstream for the parched river-bed in the district. Currently, Godavari river is flowing far away from the pushkar ghats.

In Mullakatta, the river is flowing at a distance of more than one kilometre. In Ramannagudem, the distance between the pushkar ghat and the flowing water is about 200 metres and at Mangapeta, the distance is about 50 metres.

With no indication of rainfall in the district, the state government has decided to release water from dams upstream. Endowments minister A. Indrakaran Reddy has also made an announcement about the release. The water is set to be released from Ellampally project in Karimnagar, Kadem project in Adilabad district and SRSP project in Adilabad. First, 3,000 cusecs of water from the SRSP project, 2,000 cusecs of water from Kadem project will be released in the Ellampally project in Karimnagar. And from Ellampally, 7,000 cusecs of water will be released towards Eturnagaram. The water is expected to reach Eturnagaram by Tuesday.

A temporary bund is being constructed on Godavari at Magapeta to stop the flow of water further ahead.  By doing so the officials want to make sure the water is nearby to the pushkar ghats
